TIME’S UP Reflects on Two-Year Anniversary

Equity, Power, Safety, TIME'S UP Legal Defense Fund, Tina Tchen

Two years since the launch of TIME’S UP, the TIME’S UP Legal Defense Fund has provided PR and legal support to nearly 4,000 survivors and TIME’S UP has galvanized millions of people across industries and continents to advocate for change across laws, companies, and culture.

Tina Tchen, president and CEO of TIME’S UP Now, shared the following statement:

“In the two short years since the world first heard us declare ‘time is up,’ TIME’S UP and our partners have achieved so much: we’ve connected thousands of people to legal support they otherwise wouldn’t have had. We’ve helped pass new laws. We’re changing the game when it comes to how matters of gender equity in the workplace are understood. We’re growing bigger and stronger every day. There is as much momentum behind us today as there ever was.

“But let me be clear: While we celebrate this anniversary and the power of this moment, we’re well aware of the challenges in front of us: Unrepentant abusers. Ongoing harassment in all types of workplaces. Entrenched gender inequity that impacts women in every job and every industry.

“We remain as committed as ever to creating a world where no one is harassed, assaulted, or discriminated against at work. And we won’t stop fighting until that vision is a reality.”

TIME’S UP™ Now insists upon safe, fair, and dignified work for women of all kinds. We work to make sure women are free from harassment and other forms of discrimination on the job, have equal opportunity for economic security, and can achieve the highest positions of power wherever they work. TIME’S UP Now is an independent, nonpartisan, and not-for-profit 501(c)(4) charitable organization that works for change across culture, companies, and laws.
