TIME’S UP: McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski Must Take Action to End Sexual Harassment

Amanda Harrington, vice president of communications at TIME’S UP Now, provided the following statement in response:

“McDonald’s has a sexual harassment problem, plain and simple. For the past two years, the TIME’S UP Legal Defense Fund and TIME’S UP have supported dozens of McDonald’s restaurant workers, who have been the victims of sexual harassment and assault, in their fight for justice. Yet new allegations of inappropriate relationships and systemic abuse continue to come to light.

“Ever since Chris Kempczinski took the helm as CEO, TIME’S UP has called on McDonald’s to act to ensure that all of its locations are safe and equitable for all. Today, Kempczinski should match Steve Easterbrook’s severance package – reportedly worth more than $40 million – towards efforts to eradicate sexual harassment and abuse from all of its stores and locations.”
